Marmaduke Coghill, Revenue officer in Dublin, reported to Viscount Perceval that the deployment of regular patrols along the southwest coast of Munster during the past year had the effect of directing 22,000 stone of raw wool, due to be smuggled from Dingle to France, into legitimate trade at Cork.
