The insurrectionists refuge in Ardea Castle
Donal Cam O`Sullivan Beare informed Don Pedro L?pez de Soto, that `all the gentlemen of Munster who are for His Catholic Majesty` (Philip III of Spain), were forced to take refuge in Ardea Castle for their own security. Among them were listed William FitzGerald, Knight of Kerry, Thomas FitzMaurice (Baron Kerry), Edmond FitzGerald, Knight of Glin, John and Thomas FitzGerald ? brother of James, Earl of Desmond, Cornelius Kerry (brother of Lord FitzMaurice), and Cornelius O`Driscoll.
