Mór (pronounced More) was an important goddess of the Corcu Duibne. The people of the province of Munster, the southern part of Ireland, also worshipped her. Folklore connects a number of sites on the peninsula to her, like Tig Mhóire (meaning the House of Mór) in Dunquin (Dún Chaoin), an early archaeological site. She appears to have been a sun goddess, but, as Christianity took hold, the saga literature of the 8th and 9th centuries made her a witch-like figure.>
