The Knight of Kerry and his fellow insurrectionists appeal to Philip III of Spain
In Ardea Castle, overlooking Kenmare Bay, William FitzGerald, Knight of Kerry, and other local nobles such as John FitzGerald, Florence `Lixnavoe` [of Lixnaw ? possibly a member of Lord Kerry`s family], John O`Connor Kerry, Donal O`Sullivan More, Thomas FitzGerald, Cornelius O`Driscoll and Walter Burke, appealed to Philip III of Spain for urgent help and reinforcements. They signed themselves as `vassals of His Catholic Majesty`. The letter was penned by Florence `Lixnavoe`
