An inauspicious Geraldine marriage
Maurice Fitzgerald, Knight of Kerry, married Lady Anne FitzMaurice, daughter of the Earl of Kerry. After many generations, this marriage re-connected these ancient Geraldine families, but it failed to produce an heir. Ultimately, in 1780, this would have fatal consequences for the connection between the Knights of Kerry and their traditional patrimony in Corca Dhuibhne.
